What is Football Index?
Football Index are massive on Twitter, and if you too are active on the social media site, even a little, you would’ve come across them. They are very shrewd there – there’s lots of people talking about Football Index, ranting about the benefits and just how much money can be made from it. To be honest, we know it’s 90% buzz, but it is difficult not to be intrigued so, like lots more, we wanted to have a go. The earning potential from playing the stock market is huge, but not too interesting, you’ll get plenty more excitement out of a both teams to score acca, but this evens things up, and the football aspect makes it the first of its kind in the world.
Here’s the basics on how to get started making money. Run through the first team list available on the site, pick out your favourite players and buy ‘shares’ in that player – called futures. Your futures will then appear in your portfolio and you can decide on how much of a share you have in that player, the cost of which will depend on just how popular he is. Now is the important bit.
You’ve got your shares in your group of players sitting in your portfolio, attentions then turn to what Football Index call the Buzz Feed, and this is a carefully selected group of newspapers and media outlets that’s going to serve as your bible here. Every time your player’s name is mentioned in one or more of these news feeds, his score and value will increase. There’s daily prizes too, so you are always in with a chance to win a cash pay-out.
Your player may attract attention by scoring a goal, netting a hat-trick, being linked with a transfer to a major club, international call-up – anything that makes news, makes you money. Now it’s time to cash in, if you think the time is right. Let’s say the best scenario here is a standard player being linked with a move to the likes of Chelsea. He’s going to attract a fair bit of attention. It’ll be time to make the most of that. When his value has gone up enough, and you think it has reached its limit, sell him for a profit to other traders, and bank the difference.
The Buzz List, which awards daily winners, based on players making the news, if your man tops that daily list you will get paid out at 0.05 GBP for every share you have in that player. A big slice will result in a decent pay-out, and if he’s making news one day, there’s every chance he will again.
It’s not all profit though. If your player has had a stinker, he could be relegated from the first team to the squad list, which will make him virtually worthless, no one will want a name that’s not on the list and can’t be sold. Interestingly, two of football’s worst performers will be dropped from the all-important list every week. They will be replaced with two men voted the most popular from the squad list, and worthy of a place in the first team.
Go mobile with the Football Index app
You can download the Football Index app from the app store, allowing you to get involved in the game, altering your team and selling for a profit anywhere, any time. If you are familiar with how to navigate around the desktop site, getting around the mobile app won’t be a problem, as it’s very similar. Even if you’re not, the app seems straightforward, and there’s nothing here that’s going to catch you off guard. It’s a convenient way to play the fun game, and checking out your progress throughout the day is dangerously addictive.
